Healthy Mind, Beautiful Mind

In my opinion, I think that the most beautiful thing is someone’s mind. During times of COVID-19 I have caught myself feeling negative or lazy at times! I decided to come up with 10 ways that you can refresh yourself and feel better while self isolating.

  • Go for a walk – I have noticed that fresh air and a change or scenery can do wonders for your mentality. When I am feeling sluggish I have found it helpful to put on some shoes and go for a walk. Your walk doesn’t have to be strenuous or long, just get outside and enjoy the day. I usually bring my dog with me and that uplifts her as well! Taking a walk is a great way to open you mind reflect on things. After you get back, you will feel more energized and happy!
  • Listen to positive music – I have found that different types of music puts me in totally different moods! Put on some of your absolute favorite songs and find some new ones that encourage you! I like to play my music loud and make something like cleaning my room more fun!
  • Do a face mask – If you are feeling stressed, face masks are always great to do. Face masks don’t have to be expensive either! You can look up online how to create your own from ingredients in your kitchen. Have fun making them and try new recipes.
  • Stretch – Doing something as simple as taking a stretch break between episodes of Netflix or an assignment will make you feel happier and healthier. Have some fun with it and look up some yoga poses to try. Find your favorite ones and incorporate a few of them every hour or so!
  • Start a journal – Journaling can really open your mind and allow you to reflect about yourself and your life. You can choose to write about anything, it is really up to you. Some topics could include what happened in your day, a problem you are dealing with, a prayer, a fun made up story or a poem.
  • Bake a treat – Something fun that can lift your spirits is baking! I made chocolate chip oatmeal walnut cookies the other week and they were absolutely delicious. Making them was the best part. My family really enjoyed them as well so doing something positive for yourself can be positive for others as well.
  • Organize your closet – Organizing an area in your home that has been long due for some organization is the best feeing once completed! I organized my closet this week and found many things that I no longer need. It created so much more space as well as I decided to sell things online! Turn on some music and let the cleaning begin!
  • Garden – Gardening can be so peaceful and being outside is so refreshing! Try cleaning up your backyard or planting some flowers. When you look outside each day you will feel great admiring your hard work.
  • Write a letter- I like to write letters to my grandparents and I know that they love when I do. Writing a letter sounds kind of old fashioned, but it actually can be really fun and who doesn’t love to receive something in the mail. Take your letters to the next level with fun colored pens and fun stationary.
  • Call a friend – Sometimes we can get caught up in our own lives and forget about how others are doing. Calling a friend and seeing how they are doing and what is going on in their life is important. It can refresh you by taking your mind off of your own priorities and focus on something different. I bet your friend will appreciate the love too!

Being beautiful starts with a beautiful mind. When you catch yourself feeling negative, stressed, lazy or just not feeling good, try out some of these ideas. I bet they will have you feeling positive and refreshed in no time!
